In January of 2010, Gildan asked a simple question “Can a T-shirt help make a better world?” and with this the “I Support....”program was born. Designed to recognize the great work being done by charities in North America and raise awareness for them in these challenging economic times, Gildan solicited input from our vendors, customers and partners. 

We asked you tell us what charities YOU supported and why to help guide a $100,000 donation.

Funded through sales of our industry leading style 2000 t-shirt, the first annual “I Support…” program was an overwhelming success.  Industry and public participation led to a $100,000 donation to HOMEBOY INDUSTRIES, the largest gang intervention program in North America, proving that a T-shirt can indeed help make a better world!

“I Support…” 2.0, Bigger and Better than before

Gildan is doubling the donation amount in 2011 to a total of $200,000 USD, funded by each and every sale of our SoftStyle Men’s and Ladies’ T-shirts (style 64000 and 64000L respectively). We again ask you to “Tell us Your Story” and nominate you favorite charity at www.facebook.com/genuinegildan by sharing how they are making a genuine positive impact in the community.  And then ask your friends to come on as well to vote.  Their input will increase your charity’s chances to receive a donation from Gildan.
